What should I do to avoid getting hurt?

There’s a guy that I’ve been talking to for a while. I finally got the nerve to trust him, which is hard becasue of all the abuse I’ve endoured in the past), and I find out that’s he’s making moves on another girl; right after he said he would stay true to me. I’m already hurting, but I don’t want it to hurt any worse. anything I can do to avoid getting destroyed by this?

since im not a female im not sure on your situation or certain emotions but if it was flip flopped and a girl did that to me I would try to erase those emtions of liking her any more then a friend or depending how far it went any emotions I had for her at all
