They say ill die and I wont be able to sstart a family and my boyfreind really wants a family one day and my parents just want me to stay close to them. What do I do?

It’s your life, I say don’t let anyone hold you back with what you want to do. Yeah your parents, boyfriend might be upset that you want to go into the national guard, but sit them down and tell them why you want to go into it. They should respect your choices in YOUR life

Answer #2

Look at your self and ask why your realy want to go into the national gaurd. Is it worth leaving your family and your friends. What is keeping you from going other than your boyfriend and family. Personally I would not advice it right now, expecially at this time. If you are unsure you have plenty of time to join, so hold off for a while tell you know what you want to do. Its not a matter as mentioned above dont let anything hold you back from what you want to do, if you wanted to do it that bad nothing would hold you back, but obviously something is telling you that you are uncertain.

welll thats the thing I dont wanna wait I wanna go right into it partly just becausse people expect so much from me. like my parents expect me to go to college and I will but the national gueard helps me with that. they pay for it, and my boyfreind wants a baby and I dont yet so its kinda like getting out but not reallly we have a baby while im on my 8 year term or after. you know I can do everything that is expeted of me I just want to do something that will make me happy.

Answer #4

It really boils down to what will make you happy in life. I usually tell friends or family members that they have plenty of time to join, it will always be there but the minute you sign the paperwork there is no turning back, so if you are stuck on a decision I would say dont rush into it and wait a couple months or even a year and see where you are at then! Hope this helps! Good luck!
