What's wrong with my cat?

My cat seems to have a fur problem. Right above his tail, all his fur is coming off. He’s been seeming to lick tere a lot, so I’m thinking he’s itchy there, or something. I’ve taken him to the vet a few times, but even they don’t know what to do! Do you have any suggestions of what’s wrong with him?

Answer #1

either Stres food allergies change in something in the home–stressed it could be worms–get a blood test done for worms, parasites, harmone problem

Answer #2

We had a cat that was doing the same thing because she had fleas and was scratching them. Your vet would have noticed fleas though.

Answer #3

that happend to my brothers cat raight befor it got hit by this disease that made it lose all its fur so maby your cats geting it.

Answer #4

my cats had the same thing when they had worms so that could be the answer because when we treated the worms problem the bald patches grew back bby_chaz x

Answer #5

my cat does that when ever the weather gets warm. she actually had several bald spots all over her back. my mother and vet think it’s her way of cooling herself off… even though it’s disgusting, the vet said there is nothing harmfully wrong with the animal. maybe that has something to do with it? i really have no idea if it’s not. haha.

Answer #6

If your cat is ithching there then when you think he’s licking he may actually be biting. So if he’s biting he may actually be de-furring the end of his tail.

Answer #7

I think I have your answer my cat does the same thing my cat does that when she is upset its her way of expressing paranoia it may be odd and a laughing matter that you have a paranoid cat but its true we just moved and she began to pull out her rear end fur and when we got a new dog that would always tease her she did the same. Some times when my little cousins come over they will torment her to the point where she has to run away and she will start doing that under the bed. It is also known that cats do that during weather changes from winter to spring when the different furs start to grow and touch and feel uncomfertable.
