I have a friend who has a Doctorate in Pharmacy, but she is the head director of medicine in an emergency room. She majored in Chemistry. Now if you wanted to be a Pharmacy Tech then you would need to check out different trade schools.

If you are in Australia, to become a qualified pharmacist you need to enrol into a university Pharmacy course which is 3 years full-time duration. Once you graduate your eligible to put together medical prescription, give out medical advices to customers who do not wish to visit a doctor and give recommendation on what product/s to use etc.. You could even own and run your own pharmacy too.

If you are not interested in going to uni, then the next best alternative is being a pharmacy assistant but PA is really a glorified sales assistant, but at least you get the chance to see what the pharmacists are doing but legally you won’t be hands on. Any over the counter medication sold to customers would need the approval of the pharmacist first.
