Hi sus,

I’m not Juniperone, but Prell is a type of strong shampoo that apparently can sometimes lift or fade hair color from the root.

However, it’s not recommended for daily use.

Hope that helps.

Sorry I took so long to get to you. It’s been a busy weekend with the fam!

Your questions has already been answered, but I did want to respond…Yes, Prell is a shampoo that is known to strip/dull/lighten artificial haircolor. It is totally not recommended for people who color their hair for that reason.

When most people color their hair a medium or dark brown, it often comes out wayyy dark at first. Then the person is afraid it will never lift, so they get online and start reading to use Tide laundry detergent or other harsh detergents to wash their hair with to lift the color. The brown always comes out a bit darker than anticipated when using a store bought brand and you are not a stylist. It usually takes a week or two of shampooing to lift to the “color on the box”, but the girl (I don’t know if it was you or not) was asking how to get it out faster. I recommended that she shampoo with Prell several times in a row, or just wait a week or two until the brown evens out and settles.

I was in the grocery store the other day and a lady was panicked that she picked out a nice, milk chocolate medium brown and it came out black and she was going to go home and wash her hair with Arm and Hammer and Tide and household bleach and all sorts of ucky stuff. The truth is, just give it a week, shower and shampoo every day. It will lighten.

:)
