What is this world coming to?

3rd graders trying to kill a teacher, I mean COME ON!

Answer #1

Big picture - We live in a time where evil is on the increase, which is reflected in numerous ways - studying the Bible it is evils time, but the great news is, that time will end with the 2nd coming - even sooner for some…Take care !!

Answer #2

are you serious? well, I ‘spose you are, who would post something like that if it was a lie? But WOW. 3rd graders? why aren’t kids kids anymore? Jeeez…

Answer #3

I don’t think we need to protect kids. I think we need to parent them. The total lack of parenting is what causes many of these situations.

Answer #4

Where are their parents?!! My god!! Just hope others dont learn from them! Teenagers might do it but not 3rd graders!! Crazy crazy the world’s going’ crazy dude!

Answer #5

Oh my goodness, I know! I saw that on the news, that was quite the story for sure! Considering the weapons they had and everything. For those who didn’t hear: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080402/ap_on_re_us/children_s_plot_16

Answer #6

Oh yeah I read about that and thought maybe it’s an April Fool’s joke or something.. but obviously it’s not and that’s just freaky and sad…

Answer #7

When you consider that most school age children watch more then 30 hours of TV a week with unsupervised viewing. You also take into account the shows that are on TV. They are subjected to things that my parents, never in a million years would have let me watch at that age. Even the Disney shows are getting out of hand. Look at the show The suite life of Zack and Cody, which is aimed toward elementary kids. Some of the graphically violent video games. Yet some parents see it as harmless. It desensitizes children and adults to violence and crime. Until we start giving our children back their childhood and begin to protect them from the mainstream, things are going to get worse. Children know far to much to early. It is sad to say the least.

Answer #8

“We live in a time where evil is on the increase,”

As opposed to past times, when evil was on the decline? Er…

I also agree with butterfly, we do live in a culture where children are exposed constantly to things they should not be. There’s really no two ways around it. And it’s not just our culture. In several other cultures, children are recruited or forced into fighting wars. Innocence is being removed from youth…it’s unforgiveable.

Answer #9

Go back to your fantasy world amblessed, people are talking about real world events here, not religious dogma.

Butterfly, you are absolutely right. This country is way to entrenched in violence, from movies and video games, to real newscasts. And there is little effort from many parents to protect their kids from such images.

I for one would rather see a lot more sex on TV than violence. I think the violent images are much more detrimental to society (especially children) than sexual images.

Answer #10

I heard about this. Just had to laugh out loud.

Apparently, the kids were yelled at for standing on chairs, and the teacher made them angry enough to try to kill her.

Honestly. In Third Grade, killing someone was only done in Runescape. Obviously, the parents are to blame, not teaching their children any kind of sense of reality.

Learning disabilities or not, the children need to go to some sort of lecture or service to learn right from wrong. I’d like to see where these kids are… 10-20 years from now.

Answer #11

Part of parenting is protecting your child. You don’t just expose a child to things and then explain it away. I’m sorry but things do not work that way. At certian ages children are not ready to handle certian things. That is why some children act out in ways that are inappropriate. You teach your children how to become independent and a productive part of society. Not to be destructive to themselves and others. Children mimic what they see and learn. If a child is around violence all the time they accept it as a way of life or they try to run from it. Either way it effects their actions. You can not keep your child away from everything, yet you can protect them from it being part of their daily lives.

Answer #12

Wow in third grade I did not even think about stuff like that. I can kind of see how it would happen because in our soicety today children are maturing way faster and exposed to so many bad expernecies or volient ones such as tv shows, movies, and hearing about the war. I just didn’t expect them to plot out theur tecahers death. Wow thats just so crazy I would not even think about that or know how to plan something like that when I was in grade three

Answer #13
