Well, I've heard it from my parents and family. But I was just wondering fully what it is, since I have to take one. How is the test? and what exacly does it do, or studied for?
It's a heart stress test.
They attach little adhesive discs on the ends of wires to various parts of your body and you lie down while the machine checks your heart rhythms. There are several reasons why someone would need to have one done - you should ask your parents why you need it.
It's quite painless - don't worry, I've had them done before.
EKG, aka ECG, is used for measuring the electrical impulses created by your heart. The nurse will attach 12 electrodes on certain areas on your chest, and the impulses will be recorded digitally on a graph. The cardiologist will then analyze the waveforms and determine if your heart is healthy or not.
Thanks, im not worried, just intrested. and I know, im fully aware for why I have too.
Its where they record the your heart beating and make sure nothing wrong with it.
