I always had trouble with this one. Here’s what I understand – A reflexive verb has a reflexive pronoun as its object. A reflexive pronoun is a pronoun that is preceded by the noun it is identifying in the same sentence or clause.
So in the sentence, “Julie shot herself in the face,” “herself” is the reflexive pronoun and “shot” is the reflexive verb.
