What is a good, nice, small pet that is fun to play with?

Hey guys im thinking about getting a small pet like a chinchilla or a hamster. I want a really cute, fun, and playfull pet that I could get at petco or petsmart. Any ideas? I dont really want a hamster or ginni pig, but if you tell me something about them that I’d like, then please… Im open to any small pet ideas. (my mom is afraid of dogs and my dad is allergic to cats… And I dont want a bird.. So any other ideas would be awwwesome) thx :)

The problem with going for a small pet like that is that the pets you’re generally open to are all rodents- this means a lot of cage/hutch cleaning, and if you keep them inside, they can be rather smelly. If that doesn’t bother you, There’s a lot of options open to you.

Mice and rats generally don’t have terribly long lives, and you have to clean out their cages every few days or so, otherwise they get rather smelly. Male rats are generally smellier than female.

Ferrets are a lot of fun, but again, very smelly animals. You also have to be careful around them and very small children.

Bunnies and Guinea pigs can generally be kept outside in a hutch, so that eliminates the smell from the house, but you still have to clean or move the hutch pretty regularly. They are very sweet animals though, rather cuddly wee things.

Other options are things like lizards (they can be great fun), and snakes, but I’m guessing you’d like something cute and fuzzy. :)

Chinchillas are nice! I have one. Teheyr cage doesnt really smell, so thats a plus. Usually, I vacuum out her cage once a week, and change her blanket once every2. Use a blanket instead of stuffing crap. And chinchillas can get pricey, with being around $100 for jsut them. You want to get them a nice size cage, so altogether it will prob be over $200, but I find it worth it.

well if I’m not a big fan of small animals I LOVE my big dogs and horses and all that but if you want a cute small animal you deffinatly need to get little piggy!! I mean seriously what is cuter than this.. http://img.dailymail.co.uk/I/pix/2007/10_03/TetleyPigletRAN_468x340.jpg adorable right!? either a teacup pig or a small potbelly piggy! <33 they are so cute and are very intelligent!
