How can I help my friend with drugs?

I became friends with a girl who has drugs as a crutch in her life. I’ve known her for about six months now, and I’ve been trying to help her understand that her life is going downhill and that she needs to change. Well, it finally clicked about 3 weeks ago, and she has been clean until last night. She told me today that she took three pills of ecstasy, and she has seizure, but she doesn’t really remember it that well. She’s been to rehab before, but that only made her worse she said. Her parents know about her, but could care less. I just don’t know what to do about her, I want to fix her, and make her live her life without drugs. I care about her so much, and I want her to be happy.. She’s been to counseling too, and she takes depression pills. I just want her to know that there can be better things out there than drugs, and I worry a lot about her. What can I do?

Its just going to take work on her end to quit. As long as your supporting her, thats all you can really do without pushing too hard.

It’s good that you’re there for her, you’re one of the positive things in her life. She can only change if she really wants to and unfortunately that’s what it comes down to. Tell her how worried you are about her and make sure she knows you’re there for her.
