What happens if a baby is miscarried?

What happens if an unborn foetus dies in the early stages of pregnancy? Does it just come out of the woman like a heavy period?

Answer #1

If it’s in the first 4 weeks, it’s normally just like a regular period…you just might have been a little late. It’s severe-you can hardly stand it kind of cramps though…and heavy bleeding.

Answer #2

It depends how far along the mother is, usually in early stages the body will pass the baby but if it’s far along sometimes the doctor needs to do a medical procedure to remove it. If it did happen early on, which in most cases it does, it’s much like having a heavy period, yes.
