Is the power of prayer still available as in the early church?
Yes - I do realise that there have been times in Church history when people argued that there was something special going on back then that isn't availble to Christians now. But I believe that God gave the Holy Spirit to the church then and to the church now, and I see His work around the world and in my life now as then.
Jesus said that his disciples would go on to do even greater miracles than He had done. I've yet to see anyone raise someone from the dead or do anything greater than that.
There are miracles happening on a daily basis around the world, but, you have to tune in to various ministries to find them. They are not broadcast on the nightly news.
It's just as effective today as it was then, if that's what you mean.
(well controlled studies prove it to be innefective)
