Has your father exhibited behavior like this in the past? If this is a one time thing, you could talk to him about it. There may be something in his life that has been affecting him and he just lost it. If this is a recurring thing, you should weigh up the pros and cons of calling child services. What your father did is wrong and is not your fault.

Have you got a mother or older sibling you could tell? Or a trusted teacher at school? They could help you decide what you want to do.

If this happens again, or you are living in fear, You should definitely either talk to your dad, or call child services.

What would you like to happen? Do you feel assaulted? Do you want him punished or will an apology will work? If you want him punish you will have to call the police so he can be charged with assault. But that could ruin a lot of people including you for a long time.

Now if it is a pattern and he does it a lot then I think you should get the police involved. Maybe they can come and talk to him and put a little fear in him. Does he abuse drugs and alcohol?
