My husband wants to join the army(or some branch of military) but we have a 1yr old son and I would hate him to go off in a war and not come back. So does anybody know if there is any branch he could join but not have to fight???
all of the branches are indeed involved in the war some how some way. my mom was in the naval reserves and she was sent over to kuwait in 2006 for 10 months, all she was doing was basic things in kuwait on a nice base and all she did was check vehicles and luggage that came in and out of the base and went around the base and gave out huge pallets of water. I think the reserves are the most "less risky" if thats what you want to call it. talk to a recruiter about it for more info. hope I helped.
I've been talking to recruiters for the last two months, and there is no branch that is not involved, they are saying things are so bad that they are sending people form every branch of the millitary, so it is almost impossible to join and not participate in the war. sorry
We have been an army family for a long time, and every branch of military that you go in will have something to do with going over seas. If you would like, you can email me and I'll give you more information. (Army is pretty much confidentical). - Advice Girl, (:
Every branch of the military gets involved in fighting at one time or another. Even the Coast Guard has participated in every war in some fashion. If he signs up, he carries the risk of deployment the same as everyone else.
All of them have to but safest is probably the Coast Guard. During times of war they do become paart of the Navy. But it is still a pretty safe gig as far as war goes.
