Which branch of the military should I enter.

Which branch of the military should I enter. I was thinking the Marines, but some people say I wouldn’t make it, and it makes me really frustrated. I don’t have the best grades, (mid 80’s) they used to be high 90’s and I was just wondering do grades matter, and what would you recommend.

I was 12 years Air Force and it was a great experience - only got out because I could do the same job civilian for 3X the pay.

Answer #2

ahahahaah you think your grades matter when joining the military? jhahahahah. you probably shouldn’t waste your time with something that is just going to mess your life up

Answer #3

School grades do not matter when joining the military, having a high school deploma will do you more good than a ged though. The only grade that matters is on the asvab (the entrance exam) and if you make at least a 65 on that you should have a pretty decent list of job choices available to you. It is something you could study for, there are questions on math, mechanical knowledge, vocational skills, and more areas of knowledge but basically it’s just to determine how you do in each category to help determine what jobs you’ll be good for. For example if you score high in electrical knowledge you’ll have more jobs in that field available. And don’t let anyone tell you that you wouldn’t be able to hack it in the Marines, I am a Marine myself and I heard the same stuff but it’s all about personal drive and dedication. Good luck and Semper Fi

Answer #4

Hahahahhahahaha, You’re gay; Grades should matter. And how would that mess up my life? Everyone that I know that has joined the military have said that it is a good experience and teaches you a lot. Maybe you just couldn’t handle it…

Answer #5

If you want to join the service you should talk to all of the branches to see who offers you what you want. The military does look at grades but they also have their own tests to determine your potential; if you do well on these tests this could help you get into whatever field you are interested in.
