What are some unique easy to do science fair ideas?

Okay, so I’m clueless on what I want to do for my upcoming science fair project. I cant afford a lot..so I need some ideas to do a simple easy project..but I want it to be different, not popular. please help asap!

What I did one year: Choose a few locations (toilet seat, light switch, TV remote, door knob, etc.) get a Q-tip for each one. Swab them. Then get an agar-filled petri dish. Label each dish for each location. Swab the dish with the Q-tips you used for each location. give it a few days, and see which dish has the most ‘growth’ in it (mold, fungus, etc.) then make your conclusion: Which one had the most germs and grew the most mold/fungus, etc. Oh, and for your hypothesis, guess which will be the most germy, and why (I said the light switch, then gave a complicated explanation, like a lot of people touch it but it’s not something you think to clean with disinfectant wipes/spray) my teacher liked it. Hope this helped! I may list another idea if I can think of one!

Well you could get a log and a plank of and and make a catapault and find out where on the plank (right end, middle, left end etc) would make an object go further (any object). For your hypothesis just say which point you think would make the object go further.
