What are good foods to buy when I'm on a diet?

I’m also a vegetarian. What good foods are there to buy that are healthy and can help me lose weight? I don’t have many ideas, so I’m always stuck with TV dinners and canned soups :(

Being on a diet does not mean eating less.. it just means eating right!

This is how I diet and I am pescetarian (I eat fish but do not eat meat).

I take a multi vitamin (with an added iron suppliment every day). You need iron/protein to keep your energy levels up and your blood healthy.

You can eat as many vegetables as you like As much fruit as you like Try and cut down on carbs (pasta/bread/rice etc) Make sure you are getting calcium too so try skimmed milk or calcium suppliment.

I buy (as snacks/meal additions)..

soya nuts rice cakes cereal bars sugar snaps (they are green peas in the pod and are sweet and crisp) low fat pro-biotic yoghurts

and if you eat meat.. eating lean chicken is also great for you.

Try not to eat after 8pm.. and eat little and often. Don’t starve yourself and confuse your metabolism. :) And steer clear of microwave foods/canned soup.. - try having a look at the ingredients list and you will find that sugar/salt are near the top!

Hope I’ve been some help x

salad, that will keep you from eating fattening foods, and if you do eat fried chicken then dont, I guess bake chicken is more healther, wheat bread is good for whenever your going to eat a sandwich, umm, water is always the best, and for cereal don’t get things with sugar get stuff like raisin brand, the raisins are sweet enough and diet soda’s are still loaded with salt, at least thats what I heard, but I don’t go by what people sya but I can agree with that one, but um yea stuff like that, oh and for snacks, fruits are best, or nutri grain bars, and all that other stuff lol

Not sure if my answer to this got posted..

Im a veggie too.. so every morning I prepare what I’m going to eat for the day (including snacks as it is better to eat little and often rather than giant meals).

Try rice cakes, seeds, soya nuts, veggie sticks, ryvita, low fat probiotic yoghurt, fruit, cuppa soups (altho they do contain a lot of sugar/salt) MISO soup is an excellent diet food, as is sushi. My favourite diet snack is sugar snap peas in the pod.

If you’re missing out on carbs and you aren’t getting a lot of iron/protein it is a good idea to get some one-a-day multi vitamins that include iron :)
