Wet nose

I’ve heard and learned and read about dogs’ noses being wet when they are healthy. My doggy’s nose is only wet when I give attention to her. Patchie is realy healthy, I give her milk, food, water, everything! But just when she has had enough, I check her nose and its dry. But when I sneak food to her without my dad knowing, she gets all happy. But if I dont, what will happen???

Answer #1

Wet noses have NOTHING to do with health…quit worrying.

I would avoid giving your dog milk. I have several dogs and all seem to get an upset system (the runs) if they get milk. So milk is out for our dogs.

The wet nose thing is simply a Wives Tale.

“Many people throughout history have believed that if a dog’s nose is dry, then the pet is sick. They thought that the main sign of a healthy dog is a good wet, sloppy nose. This simply is not true. A wet nose simply means that the air is plenty humid. Just like anything else, when it’s humid outside, your dog’s nose gets wet. If the weather is overly dry, so will be your dog’s nose.”
