My dog and ferret always lick their noses ,, I want to know why . Is it just because animals like their noses wet or is it because I helps with their sense of smell or something ?

Answer #1

I heard it’s to groom themselves since noses can get dirty like from sniffing things so that’s why they lick them

Answer #2

Their noses are wet to help with their body temperature.

Answer #3

Ooohh ,, okay . Thanks Ladies (:

Answer #4

Generally their noses are wet in order to cool down. The moisture evaporates off their nose cooling them off just like sweat does on your skin. When dogs sleep, their noses usually dry out because they’re not being active and therefore don’t need a reason to cool down.

Answer #5
