What is the difference between weddings in these cultures?

What is the difference between english weddings and asian muslim weddings?

Answer #1

English weddings are either secular (in a Registry Office or a licenced venue like a hotel, castle etc), or Christian (usually in a church, but sometimes Christians get married by a religious leader in one of the other licenced venues). Traditionally, the bride wears white and both bride and groom wear very fancy clothes which they will probably never wear again in their lives. The ceremony is usually fairly short and fairly formal. It may include music and readings from the Bible or secular texts. If the guests come from a tradition of communal singing (usually Christian) then there will be songs too. The bride and groom repeat certain vows where they promise to stay together and love and respect each other. Then comes the reception party (after the endless photos - yawn).

What I don’t know much about is Asian Muslim weddings. Can anyone tell us more about those?
