Does wearing make up really cause wrinkles?

Answer #1

I don’t know if it’s proven or anything, but I know some people that have worn a lot of make up, for a long time…and when they get in their 30’s and 40’s their face is horribly wrinkled, and they look 10+ years older than they actually are.

Answer #2

Makeup on its own does not cause wrinkles or zits. However, not letting your skin “breathe” does. That means that you may wear makeup (as much as you like), but limit it. For example, wear makeup (eyeliner, mascara, blush, coverup… whatever you like) when you go out someplace (school, night out etc.) but when you get home, make sure to completly remove it using water and soap. Affordable makeup removers such as Neutrogena and Nivea are very affective. This will allow your skin to breathe which will avoid aging your skin and clogging pores.

Answer #3

Thank you. I get scared to wear eye makeup because I don’t want to be all old and wrinkly looking .

Answer #4

I have seen women apply makeup in many different ways. I have been told that tugging on the eyelids to apply eyeliner will make you more prone to get wrinkles there earlier. I’m not positive about that though. I usually try to remove my makeup gently from my face and try to refrain from any rough handling of the skin. It is important to remove makeup at night because although the skin doesn’t breathe, the makeup will clog your pores which will cause them to enlarge and cause you to appear older.

Answer #5

Makeup will not cause wrinkles, but it definitely will cause acne. The previous poster said it won’t cause acne, but this is false. Only noncomedogenic makeup will not cause acne. If you’re worried about the onset of wrinkles, I would recommend using a vitamin A retinoid moisturizer. Also team that up with a good antioxidant vitamin and you’re good to go. Nature will eventually take its course though. Don’t fret! Age gracefully!

Answer #6

As long as you wash it off every night..and when u use eyeliner make sure not to pull on the skin around your eyes because it is very delicate and could result in wrinkles

Answer #7

Depends on the portions. You must wash it off every night before you go to bed. Dont sleep in it! And I’m neutrogena all the way and i have never had a blemish. (I might be underage tho. :)
