Does wearing colored nail polish slow nail growth?

Answer #1

I don’t think it does, I used to paint my nails a lot and it never slowed my nail growth. But it can make your nails yellow-ish colored and using a lot of mail polish remover can dry them out.

nope but if you are worried i believe that sally nail polish brand has a couple of nail polishes with growth serum mixed in. there is no chemical in nail polish though that would effect your nail growth

I believe it’s more the way nail polish, if you apply it a lot, and use a lot of remover, t can dry your nails and make them more brittle and more prone to breakage that seems to make it slow your nail growth.

Kahili is right. Using nail polish won’t slow your nail growth, but using a lot of polish remover will dry them out. Not to worry though! It’s very easy to take care of your nails so they always look beautiful. I do a nail care routine one every couple of weeks, that includes rubbing my cuticles with cuticle oil (if you don’t have cuticle oil, most kinds of oil will works, but try olive oil for the closest resemblance), using a nail buffer with four different sides (one that roughens, one that shapes, one that strengthens, and one that shines), soaking my hands with soapy water, then massaging my hands, fingers, and nails with lotion. All of these things will keep your nails healthy in all kinds of ways, including stimulating their growth!
