Is the fear of killing things a phobia?

How about “caederophobia”? Caedere is the Latin word from which the English suffix “-cide” is derived, as in homicide, suicide, fratricide, genocide, etc.

There are actually specifics … for example, the fear of killing insects is called Entomocidephobia. I don’t think there’s a name for fear of killing anything … that’s just general common sense, really.

Well, I know I don’t have a fear of dead things or death, but I do have a huge fear of the site of blood. shutters just thinking about it xX -- ewww

i can’t find anything about an actual fear of killing things. A fear of killing in general, the shrinks just call anxiety. I even went to a phobia site that lists all phobias, there’s nothing on there.

You said that you go and find someone else to kill it. What would you do if you really wanted it dead and there was nobody around to do it for you? Could you? Maybe it’s just easier to have someone else do it. For example, my wife will say: “There’s a spider!! Get it!! However, I’ve been on the phone with her before and she’s told me “I had to kill a big spider earlier” Just something to think about.
