Can I take tylenol 3 after percocet?

I took 2 percocets about 5 hours ago but the pain came back pretty quickly. I want to take tylenol 3 now and I was wondering if it’s too soon?

Answer #1

If you can’t ask your doctor because it’s after hours, you should call your local pharmacy with such questions. I’ve found pharmacists to be extremely knowledeable and always willing to help.

Answer #2

never ever take percocet and Tylenol together, percocet has Tylenol on it and you could overdose on the Tylenol, take ibuprofen instead, you can take up to 600mg of ibuprofen in-between your doses of percocet

Answer #3

You can take percocet about every 6 hours, but Tylenol isn’t quite as strong. Dosing recommendations always recommend lower than what would be considered the maximum dosage.

If it’s been 5 hours since you took the percocet, you’re pretty safe to take the Tylenol.

Answer #4

Really? Cause when I had my other surgeries mu doc said never mix the 2 meds together, so he told me wrong? Just wondering

Answer #5

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve mixed the two with no ill effects.

Answer #6

Interesting, thanks
