Yes, placing a laptop on a male’s lap for extended periods of time can reduce sperm production. A study of 29 male volunteers found that in as little as 20 minutes a laptop on the lap can raise temperatures inside the scrotum by nearly two degrees Fahrenheit. After an hour of computer use, temperatures rise by nearly six degrees. Any temperature change over two degrees will reduce sperm count markedly. The best recommendation is to not use a laptop in the laptop position. This is a preventable problem.

that hasnt been proven at all, so for now, thats false. if it were true the laptop would have to reguarly be sitting on the lap for a very long time (like 10 years) before any noticable damage is done, IF it ere true then it can happen to girls as well bviously. but so far it hasnt been proven

To an extent, that could be true. To my knowledge there isn’t any hard evidence of what laptops do to your body as laptops are fairly new on the market. Personally I think that they could be cancerous. But you would have to use them an awful lot!

The heat from the laptop could potentially (possible) affect fertility. They just haven’t proven it yet.

Actually it has been proven, by several research studies. Increasing the temperature of the scrotum results in decreased sperm production. It can be heat generated from a laptop, a heating pad, an electric blanket…whatever. Sperm production is altered by heat….egg production is not as altered.

I recommend using a cooling pad for your laptop from the first day it comes out of the box any way because it will prolong your laptop. There are cooling pads designed for use on a desk, table etc., and for use on your lap get the one that is right for your needs.

Balls need to stay cool, cooler than normal body temp, or heat will kill sperm. Even a hot bath will do it, and it’s temporary. Lap tops don’t release radiation.
