Topics to Write About

Please give me some topics to write about. DO NOT, however, make them vulgar or degrading or slandering or obscene. I need topics I can write about for an online publisher. Thank you!

That is true, and if you had asked the question that way, I’d have answered it quite differently, although I would have still wanted you to be a bit more specific. There are so many different types of writing.

If I were reading an editorial, I’d want to read about that person’s view on real estate agents and doctors. If I were reading a blog, I might want to read about a movie review, or how someone’s garden is different this year because of all the rain or lack of it, that they’ve had. If it were a book, I’d pick a work of fiction about a parallel universe.

Also remember that every audience is different. The writer has to have a general idea of who his or her audience/market is going to be, because an article about the last 40 years of music is going to be written one way for 17 year olds and another way for 54 year olds.

First of all…if you’re a true writer, how can you ask someone not to tell you not to write about vulgar, degrading, slandering or obscene things?? This is what life is about. All the things you’ve listed, but also about love. If you were to come up with something with the five categories listed, and in the end made the book seem worth while and made it so that it relates to people in the REAL world, then you should try writing about things you don’t want to write about. That’s my advice too you. And if you like, I can send you some pieces. I’m a pro(;

Sincerly, airy(;

Thank you to artisticbriana1520 and stewie06151985 for your advice. I appreciate it. And, yes, I know one must be passionate about the subject to be written about. But that should never stop people from asking for someone’s advice about what they would like to read about. Sometimes getting iother deas can help a person come up with something to write about that others may also be interested in reading about. Remember, the writer must amuse and entertain their readers. If someone writes about only what interests themselves, then their audience is going to be bored to tears.

You can only be a good writer if you care passionately about the subject you’re writing about… otherwise it’s just a homework assignment.
