Do tongue piercings give you a lisp or cause problems while talking?

Answer #1

yes they do your tongue is swollen at first. i wouldn’t get one.they are prone to infections. good luck.

Answer #2

I’m sure at first you’d sound funny. But nope my sister and uncle have there Tongues pierced and they don’t sound any different as before.

Answer #3

Ive had friends with pierced tongues and their speech was only effected by larger pieces. As long as the piece doesn’t interfere with your tongue and the roof of your mouth I don’t think it will hinder your talking.

Answer #4

lol yeah when(if) your tongue swells up at first from inflammation i bet youll have some problems, but once it heals its good.

Answer #5

Mine didn’t interfere with my speech at all because for some reason, my piercings don’t get swollen. But it’s different for everyone and once the swelling has gone down your speech will go back to normal.

Answer #6

It will at first but then you will adjust to it and learn to talk with it. Just like with braces and retainers and mouth expanders, all of them make you talk weird for the first month or so and then you learn to talk normal with it.

Answer #7

Not once it’s healed. My friend got hers done and she talks the same as she did before she got it. Her speech was only affected when she first got it.
