too fat to club?!

I’ve just read an article in a magazine that said woman were turned away from a club for being to fat! it has a size 12 (uk size) and under policy, and even a big busted size 12 was turned away! I personaly think that is discusting! a size 12, 18, 28 and 30 turned away! should we really have a size policy for clubs? is it not everyones right to go clubbing regardless of size, sex, race or sexuality? what do you think?

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

Although I normally disagree with discrimination, would have to admit that I wouldn’t be against a night club owner for discriminating against obesity. His reasons for the discrimination may be that his furnishings would take a beating from use by obese people. Also, since night clubs are often worried about fire hazards, they might be concerned that in a fire an obese person might block and slow down fleeing patrons which could cause injury or death and increase the night club’s liability.

Did the news article go into why the club had that policy? They might have valid reasons.

what harm are the ‘fat’ people actually doing? its not just discrimination, its making the person feel be-littles and embarrassd

This may not be the answer you want to read, but the fact is, businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, including body size. It can go both ways, too. You may not make it in if you’re a size zero. Either way, it’s the club’s right to refuse service to anyone. The key is to not ramble on a littany of reasons to the rejected as to why they are not gaining entry. Then there IS the possibility that a cause for discrimination can be made.

On the flip side, this seems like it would be incentive to some to slim down. It’s better to be slim anyways. You’ll be healthier and happier and will have more energy than you’ll know what to do with. And if you want to do the ‘horizontal mambo’ you’ll have a much better chance of getting a guy in the sack with you–unless, of course, he has a fatty fettish! LOL! (J/K)

in any workforce or place its illegal to refuse someone because of things like there race, religion, weight, looks ect and is called discrimination its not illegal if what they offer doesnt accomidate or hold ect people bigger people but clubs arnt allowed to do this they still get away with it however but its against the law to refuse people because of there weight if they have a dress code then thats a different story but weight isnt…and size 12 has nothing to do with being obsese…its a perfectly healthy weight range the fact that its even considered big by those people sickens me

I agree completely. They arent ANY different from anyone else. and it bothers me to see how completely self absorbed, and image obsessed everyone is these days. and you know what a skinny little chick COULD block the exit too, yeah so maybe the obese person is larger, so? the skinny girl could be running around screaming, yeah im pretty sure that would cause some issues too.
