When is the best time to get pregnant with a boy?

my bf wants a baby, although we’ve talked about it already we decided we wont till we’re married, but we don’t want a girl, just yet. we both think that a boy would be better for our first baby. so when would be the best time to have a boy? or is it just a 50/50 chance?

There isnt a “best time to have a boy”…..you have what you have regardless of when you try, what position, etc. None of that makes a difference.

The odds of having a boy are slightly better than 50:50 already. On the average 105 boys are born for every 100 girls so the odds are more like 52:48 thought this varies a bit in different regions and for different ethnicities. In humans more boys are born than girls but since boys have a higher mortality rate at every age by age 36 the ratio reverses and by then there are more women than men.

There are things that change the odds of having one gender vs. another by a few percent. Sperm with a Y chromosome produce male children and swim faster while those with X chromosomes survive longer. Having intercourse close to ovulation increases the odds of having a boy since the male producing sperm can outrun the female producing sperm. Having intercourse days before ovulation favors girls since they can survive longer. The woman’s genital environment is hostile to sperm so sex positions that allow deeper penetration favor boys since the sperm will release closer to the cervix allowing them to escape the area more quickly. Shallower penetration favors the more resilient girl producing sperm. Also, positions that require the sperm to swim uphill favor boys and downhill favor girls. women climaxing during intercourse raises reduces the genital acidity favoring boys while not having one leaves it more acid favoring girls. Recent studies indicate that women eating a rich heavy diet produce more boys while a lower fat lighter diet favors girls.

All these suggestions slightly change the odds one way or the other. Fertility doctors can select gender by sorting sperm then inseminating the woman with mainly X or Y containing sperm. This isn’t 100% but it is close. If you are serious about wanting a particular gender this is your best bet.

I got pregnant with both my boys by conceiving on the day of ovulation. The reason for this is that the male “swimmers” are faster. But the female swimmers are stronger and live longer. Therefore, if there’s already an egg in the uterus, the sperm that would produce a boy would reach it first. But if you ovulated a few days after you had sex, then it would be likely that the only remaining sperm would give you a girl. I know it sounds bizarre… but its reletively accurate. This of course isn’t proven, its simply a theory. But one I stand by.
