Do I take down my theme stuff for my rooms when I put up holiday decorations?

This is my first time decorating my own place for the holidays. My living room is pirate themed, my sons room is star wars, my daughters room is winnie the pooh, my kitchen is fall colors, and me and my husbands room is wizard of oz. so do I take down the theme stuff and put up the holiday decorations? Or do I keep my theme stuff up and just add the holiday decorations? Im a little confused because my mom puts her theme stuff away when she decorates and my sister doesnt. I know my living room theme will tie in with halloween but not any other holiday. Would it be silly to keep up my theme decor when putting up holiday decorations? I have holiday decorations for each room for each holiday including my bathrooms. What do you guys think?

Answer #1

Incorporate the holiday decorations with the themes you already have. Our entire house is skulls, spiderwebs, pinups, gargoyles, coffins, etc all year round. For example, on christmas - the skulls get santa hats. You can keep your theme and still add holiday flare to it. I refuse to get rid of my skulls and gothic decor, and some isnt so easy to hide like our coffin coffee table lol.

yeah are pirate stuff is pretty insane and overboard. I just dont want it to clash or look tacky.

Answer #3

We just work around our usual stuff. Its like pictures and other items we’ve recieved from family members! Makes them feel as they are apart of our lives and theres constant reminders. They smile and it shows ur own caracteristics.
