Dad is way too restrictive

my dad is just way to restrictive and whenever I tell he usually ends up yelling at me…help me find a different approach?

Get your thoughts totally together and put them in a letter to give him - maybe he’ll understand and be willing to compromise…Take care !!

I feel for you I really don’t have advice for you because all parents are different im sorry. But keep in mind your father loves you and just wants you to be safe. If your too strict on your child they tend to rebel more. Its like a wet bar of soap you squeeze it to hard its just going to slip out of your hand! Good luck though:)

Don’t sound like you’re accusing him of anything, he will be defensive. Ask politely (not when you’re in the middle of yelling), why you can’t do certain things Don’t say all my friends can (parents hate that) Say, Hey Dad, I know that you don’t want me to (fill in the blank). Do you think that you could explain why so that I can understand? Let him explain without fighting Listen to his reasons Realize that he is the parent and he will normally win Except what he has to say Calmly tell him why you think you should be allowed to ( fill in the blank) Respect his wishes, he’s not doing this to be mean, just to protect you.
