Can teachers apply for social security benefits during the summer?

Answer #1

Don’t quote me on this, but I believe that in most states teachers are classified as seasonal workers. What that means is you may be able to collect employment insurance, but not social security.

Answer #2

Don’t quote me either but I believe their salaries are paid on an annual basis and summer break is just time off that does not effect their pay, or at least not totally. Afterall they are still “employed” and have a position to return to in a couple of months.
