talking with my mom

Hi everyone, I am 13, heard someone talking about masterbation, then like last week, mom had brought up sex, and asked if I knew what it was. However I don’t, and don’t no why I even said I did. so my ? is how do I bring it up with her, and I don’t want anyone here to tell me, I want to here it from my mom. Thanks so much everyone

It can be pretty embarrassing to talk about it, but it’s good to discuss it with your mom. Best to be direct and tell her you have questions about sex - she’ll probably be glad you asked. Tell her you were embarrassed to say you didn’t know about it. Good luck.

You might not think about this, but your mom probably feels just as weirded out by this talk that you do. My mom once told me that having “the talk” with me and my sister was really hard for her. We all go through this and I even went through this with my dad aswell… now that one was wweird, trust me. But through it all, I know my parents talked to me, because they care about me and want me to make good choices in my life. I really appreciate that my parents did this for me and because of that experience I could also talk about other stuff with my parents… It’s hard, but you’ll get through it. Good luck hun!
