Does a miscarried fetus need to be surgically removed?

Does a miscarried fetus have to be removed surgically, or does it abort itself naturally?

Answer #1

sometimes everything comes out of it’s own accord. but if it doesn’t you will have it removed. it’s usually doen by a d&c. I had that done after my m/c.

Answer #2

Normally, if you have a miscarriage, a Dr. will do a D & C…that is to make sure all the placenta, and membranes have been discharged as well as the fetus…

If you had a miscarrage, go to your Dr. and let HIM make the decision as to whether or not you need one.

Answer #3

It would depend on how far along you were. if you lose the baby in its earlier stages, then normally it will discharge itself. However,if you were farther along, like a few months, then youll probably have to get it surgically removed.
