How do you know if you stopped growing?

ok so i read somewhere that your arm length from finger tip to the other finger tip should be your final height so if when you reach that you’ve stopped growing then how do you know if your arms stopped growing?

Answer #1

well you never stop growning so just try to fit in and stay cool.

Answer #2

I’ve never heard it meant your final height.. I always did that when I was younger, and it always matched my height. I think you know you’ve stopped growing when you can fit in shoes you bought 5+ years ago lol :P

Answer #3

You can get a bone age scan, I think it’s an X-ray. They check to see if your growth plates have closed and if they have, you have probably stopped growing. Bone age scans help determine when people have stopped growing or the age of their bones.

Answer #4

Uhm, huh?

Answer #5

Hmmm, that’s very cool. I learned something today. Damn, it’s Columbus Day, I have no school, I didnt want to learn anything today. :(

Answer #6

The distance fingertip to fingertop of your sideways extended arms does approximate your height but isn’t definitive. There are some people with short arms for their height and others with long.

In general women reach their ultimate height by 18 and men by 20. People who experience large growth spurts may attain close to their maximum height years before this though. I know that I had a huge growth spurt in 7th grade and reached nearly my adult height; I probably continued to grow but not noticibly.
