How do I stop my cat and her kittens from sleeping in the laundry bin?

Every time I do the laundry, there’s a bunch of cat fur on the clothes!

You should just put the laundry away immediately not just leave it. Or leave it at a harder vantage point. Why don’t you also maybe have a decoy. If you have any old clothes you don’t use put them in a basket and the cats will go in that instead of your clothes :D

Put the lid on it. . If your laundry bin hasn’t got a lid, get one that has and use the old one for something else - maybe a recycling bin for paper or tin cans or empty bottles or materials for composting. . .

Combine Majikthise’s and Slashdown’s ideas: Get a new bin with a lid to use for your laundry, and let the cats keep the one they’re used to, with some old towels, sheets, or rags in it.

It’s comfortable and soft. There’s two ways of doing this. The easier way is to simply put your laundry in a place they cannot get to it. The other way is to teach them that it is unacceptable to sleep in there by punishing them. This is difficult to accomplish as you actually have to catch them in the act repeatedly for them to learn. Just put away your laundry…
