Spots on chest and back

I have spots on my chest and back…I have recently got a really good soap and I have started showering more, drinking more water, and sleeping for longer, but if you have any other tips to get rid of them that would be helpful.

But the main thing I’m worried about is, until they go away, should I worry about people seeing them? Most of them are small. I have a lot all over my back and only a few on my front (and about five quite large ones on my shoulder). But as it’s summer now I want the option to go swimming or play football without a shirt on…so basically…do you think I should worry about them? Do people mind much about spots on your body?

I don’t really see why people would mind so much to be honest, but one way I learned which can help clear spots up is tea tree oil (can sting a little but is meant to clear skin up), but I found toothpaste works, it sounds weird but does work. Dab a little bit of toothpaste on the spot and leave it to dry up, then rub or wash off, and this draws out all the nasty stuff inside so its easier to burst, so its lets prone to scarring I suppose. I have the same problem as you at the moment, so what you’re doing now is good, sun can help clear up skin too, but obviously make sure you’re protected. I don’t know which country you are from so I don’t know if they sell it over there but I have witch hazel products, and they work well for me, they help clean the spot when applied, reducing swelling and making sure the spot doesn’t return. Hope this has helped, let me know

You could always go to the doctor if you are overly concerned/worried about people seeing them. I had upper arm acne for quite some time, and I went to the doctors because grossly enough I kept squeezing them and left scars. They prescribed me some lotion and I had to put it on in the morning and before bed.

I’ve found it’s really helped.

What does the spots look like? Little red and white spots and if you scratch them…little white stuff comes out?

It could be keratosis pilaris and about 50% of the population has it and direct sunlight (not getting burned though) is excellent for it.

it is probable the start of some acne. it happens to almost everyone in their teens, but its worse with some people. just start out with a body acne wash, and if it doesn’t help or if the acne gets worse, go to a dermitologist as soon as you can. I waited too long and now my acne is very hard to get rid of.
