How can you make spaghetti sauce out of tomato sauce?

Answer #1

well, you can just cut up tomatoes and cook them on a low temperture in a pot until they are cooked well enough for your taste.

Answer #2

We usually get the tomatoe sauce in the jars and we cook about a pound of ground beef in a pot until its brown and then we add the sauce and let it cook on low until for a while.

Answer #3

You need to add red wine otherwise it wont taste like spaghetti sauce :p

Answer #4

It’s actually pretty simple. Here’s how I make it. Just add about a teaspoon of basil and a teaspoon of oregano to the tomato sauce, a tablespoon of parsley, one clove of garlic minced, about a teaspoon of salt, a can of cooked tomatoes, a small can of tomato paste, about 8 medium sized mushrooms cut up, a tablespoon of brown sugar (white works too, I just prefer the brown) and ground meat if it suits your fancy. Just cook the meat before mixing it into the sauce. I find it better to sate the onions and mushrooms before adding them to the sauce, but it’s not necessary. If you’re not into all the veggies, you can have a plain spaghetti sauce made with just the tomato paste, tomato sauce, cooked tomatoes, oregano, salt, basil, brown sugar, and parsley. A couple tablespoons of olive oil are nice in it as well.

Answer #5

easy. if you want o just use tomatoe sauce then after cooking the spaghetti mix it though with some butter, salt, pepper and tomotoe sauce and it taste the best but not something you would eat all the time lol

Answer #6

I’ve done this before and just added some fresh tomatoes, peppers, garlic, and random spices I thought would taste good in it.

Answer #7

If you want tomato sauce to taste more like spaghetti sauce try adding to 1 qt of plain tomato sauce:

1 Tbl. Parsley 1 tsp. Orageno 1/2 tsp. Basil 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper (unless you like not spicy at all) Several grinds of fresh ground pepper Garlic to taste (some like lots, some don’t like any) Salt to taste.

If you can let it simmer a while.

This will give you an approximation of spaghetti sauce. Real spaghetti sauce from scratch really isn’t that much work but this should get you by in a pinch.

Answer #8

Blanche the tomatoes, peel ad remove seeds. Boil with garlic, onions, grated carrot, spices, fresh thyme and oregano, tomato paste, little sugar, salt and pepper…..cook for about 2 hours.
