what sould i do my friend is anorexic and she wont let me feed her?

Answer #1

You stop it. Anorexia is a serious eating disorder. People who have it will not respond to someone trying to feed them. Your friend needs to see a professional about this and get proper help. Be there to support her through it.. don’t try to force food on her.

You need to tell her parents. As hard as that is, as much as it seems like a betrayal, it is more important for your friend to be alive than it is for her to be happy with you. And I know this seems like a simple solution, just get her to eat. But she can’t. She’s not just being stubborn, she’s not being difficult, she literally cannot eat. See a lot of what anorexia is about is control. Now if you try to force her to eat, you’re taking away her sense of control. So she’ll fight it even more. Professionals need to deal with this. But you’re a good friend and she’s lucky to have someone who has noticed and cares. So just get someone involved who can help her, and the best thing you can do is to continue to be someone who notices and cares. Believe me, that is worth more than you know.

i know where u are coming from, i have been there myself, and really if she is not taking the food from u or her friends then u must get a profeesional.. i know it sucks and feels like u rnt being a good friend, but thts really what it comes down to. when i was going through the beginning of not eating period, my friends caught it and talked to me and one of my friends actually started to pack an extra lunch because he knew i would not bring one of my own, after i certain point i gave in and started eating again, but if ur friend is to far into it, then all u might be able to do is get a professional to help, sorry if this snt much help =)Good Luck!
