The best solution I’ve found lie in three things.

  1. cotton balls 2)witch hazel
  2. Kleenex or oil absorbing facial pads.

Every morning and night, clean your face with Witch Hazel. Sally’s carries this, it can be hard to find otherwise!. Witch Hazel is a clear, liquid extract from the witch hazel root, witc is an old remedy used to soothe skin from burns, scratches, swelling, or just cleansing. It is an astringent and a toner, naturally. Wipe your face clean with it using a cotton ball. It dries with absolutely no residue and your oil doesnt stand a chance against this powerful astringent. But it also doesn’t dry your skin out, which some expensive oil reducing creams do!

Carry Kleenex or oil pads with you and throughout your day, use them to absorb excess oil. If you wear a lot of make up, you’re fighting an uphill battle. Just absorb and repowder your face as often as possible, every couple of hours really. Oil of Olay makes some oil absorber pads.

Once the oil is on your face, there is nothing the product you used in the morning can do to remove it. This is where old fashioned manual labor must be employed. Don’t let oil sit there too long because it will catch dust and dirt flying around the air and settle into your pores later to create blackheads or enlarged pores.

Since I stopped looking for a expensive miracle cure and did this I have much less of an issue! Oh, and I’m a cosmetologist, too :)

An added note:

Moisturizers are for people with dry skin. If you have an oil problem, you do not need moisture. If you are like most people, you have combination skin–oily spots. For me, I have very dry skin on my forehead but my nose was oily. So I apply moisturizer to my forehead but NONE on my nose. So only use a moisturizer if you have dry skin on your face somewhere. Give your face what it needs only on the parts that it needs it.

Answer #9

drink alot of water

Answer #10

i say plain old soap. it drys my skin up.

Answer #11

first of all, use anything thats oil-free. if you don’t you’re just adding oil in. also, get clean & clear oil absorbing sheets. they’re only like 6 bucks and you just blot your face with one and it’ll suck up all the oil.
