how do i simplify brackets eg 5(a+7)?

in my maths class we’ve been learning how to expand and simplify brackets but its really hard. can someone explain it to me please

It shud b 5a+35= then the answer

You multiply the outside number by the numbers and virables inside the brackets. So 5 times a would be 5a. Then 5 times 7 would be 35. So you have simplified it to 5a + 35.

basicclly the 5 must be multipied by both things in the bracket. it would be like 5xa+5x7 which would equal 5a+35
