What do you think of the new show on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), "Pray the Gay Away"?

I haven’t watched it. I saw previews for it. It’s just another show that I probably won’t care to watch. If nothing else is on, I might watch it. It doesn’t seem very interesting. But whatever.

What do you think of what the show is about? I personally think it’s complete BS.

What is it?

The name of the show pretty much says it all. It’s about Christians, and how homosexuality is a sin… and it’s not right.

I’ve never heard of it- us in NZ get TV shows about 6 months after they air in the US haha. But yeah I agree, it’s ridiculous. They’d never have shows called ‘Lets hate on tall people’ or ‘C’mon guys! Who hates Australians?!’ Uggh, just when the world seemed to be getting somewhere with the gay right thing… now this… :S:S:S:S

I have never heard of it before, but I think it absolutely horrible. There is nothing wrong with being gay and shame on them for trying to make people feel bad and stir up prejudice and hate.

ive never heard of it untill now, and it disgusts me. the people who came up with the idea should be ashamed of themselves for their disdusting behaviour. however religious people like that are crazy. theres nothing wrong with being gay and this is just inasulting them. obviously they think its wrong and want them to find “god” so that hopefully takes the gay away…its truley disgusting. unfortunantly producers only care about ratings and money as mandyloo said, and tv really is getting crapper as more and more crap like this allowed to be aired. i really dont know why anyone would allow this kind of crap on television. its ecxtreemly insaulting and disrespectful to gay people. because you DONT just pray being gay away, people are born that way. its their sexuality

Got me curious. I went to the OWN website and I didn’t see any show called “Pray the Gay Away” Searching the web I saw a few references to a segment about “Pray the Gay Away” on “Our America with Lisa Ling” I don’t know if the segment is sympathetic or critical of this movement though. Has anyone seen this show?
