Should you dine with someone you know doesn't like you?

I know my father says things like” I eat more when I it is free to me” and tells my family members to help me manage my weight and that they aren’t doing me any favors by being nice to me.

But we are having a get together with out of town family - should I go to meet up for dinner?

I really don’t want to, I don’t really want to see any of them - but I feel obligated. If I go I will probably end up crying, if I don’t I will feel guilty for never wanting to be near them anymore.

What would you do? Go for the sake of family or take care of your own feelings foremost? Also I will have to wear a sweater to be secure, and it is like 100deg. I don’t want to go, seems like a unpleasant experience throughout.

I don’t think it would be fun for anybody if you went unwillingly. It’s going to be very uncomfortable and awkward for you, and your family will notice. I would just take a rain check if you’re that worried about it. :)

I dont like my family. I refuse to go see them. It’s not the end of the world if you dont want to go…

im not trying to be mean but if your not confident about your body then why do you overeat?

if you dont want to go then dont, its up to you
