my dad died of cancer when I was 7, so I know what its like. . it was 8 years ago but it still hurts when I think of him. try to find people to replace them, it sounds bad but it really helped me.

You dont have to let go. Carry your memories of them with you in your heart.

Over time the pain will go away. My grandmother died when I was 17. To this day I still miss her and cry for her but that first year it was horrible. I missed her so much! Every day I would think of her. Its sad to say but I dont think of her every day now. I dont go to my grandparent’s grave all the time like I used to. I do go occassionally but not like I used to. Its been…17 years.

But over time the pain lessens. You start to remember the good times without feeling the loss as much. Things will get better.

Just, try taking your mind off it, and do something productive in the time that you’d usually have been spending with them. It’ll be hard, you were obviously close to them and it hurts…

I’m not saying forget them, but like, yeah, slowly take your mind off it by pre-occupying yourself with interesting, and possibly new things?
