Should I talk to my dad?

well I turn 18 four months ago…I have not talk to my dad since september…And I have never lived with my dad because he would pick me up and take me to different houses since I was born and he is and alcholic and smokes a lot..so im failly in a stable home and he told his ex wife that he really didnt care for me…and I really miss my dad even if I dont know him that well buut I dont know if I should call him because the last time I talked to him he made me cry and hung up on me…

P.S..My mother left me when I was born..

I can understand were your cummin from I’ve been frew near enough the sme but I’ve gt my mom what im doin with my dad is im gonna get on with him but no expect nuffin cz if you don’t expect nuffin you cnt gt hurt , do not believe evryfin he says , tell him straight dad I love you but you do this again I don’t want nuffin mre to do with you my dad drinks a lot to always in prison never ever been there and I hate that I love him but all you gotta think is , is he rele worth it cz you dne it this long without him , just giv it a go once mre , no one cn sai you didnt try

I don’t know if I can say I had the same expericence, similar maybe, no even that. I haven’t seen my dad in two years, but he doesn’t drink. Alcoholish runs in both sides of my family, though. I would suggest writing a letter; it can be very simple. Just write something small and vauge. I would write something like: Hey, how’s it going? haven’t talked to you in a while, just wanted to make sure you were okay. I don’t think you should call just yet; hearing his tone of voice will be harder than just picturing it. I’m sorry about everything that has happened to you, and in the end, it ‘s your choice. I hope you make the right choice for you.
