You can try buying a milk bath/shampoo for them (not actually milk, but something close! lol) My aunt has 2 and she gives them a milk bath once a week (they are like her children! lol) and their coats are beautiful and very shiny! Look it up on yahoo, I’m sure there is somewhere in ireland that sells it. If not, just buy it online!

walmart? sorry, I dont know what this is. is there sum other kind of name for it in ireland? I havent heard of any of them brands of food. also, is there anything you can do to help her wit the nervousness?

Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were across the pond…

You can buy Fish Oil caps or Salmon Oil Caps, in any store that sells vitamins and supplements…

I’d bath less, and try the supplements…bathing drys the skin…and in the winter, the artificial heat (gas, oil, wood)…ALSO drys the skin out…dried skin doesn’t produce shiny coats. Shampoos strip coats of the natural oils…A good healthy coat starts on the inside of the dog…ie…good health and nutrition.

The shivering…”nevousness” sounds like inborn temperment to me…all dogs have different traits, even in the same litter…

For shinier coats…make sure you’re feeding a quality dog food…we have a list of which ones are good nutrition, and which one’s suck…Also…fish oil added to their food gives them the Omega 3’s and 6’s needed for healthy skin and coat…You can pick it up at Walmart, in the nutrition section…200 mgs per day for dogs this small…just throw a capsule into their food, they’ll eat it and like it :).
