Semi formal help!!!

A.. Do people ussually tuck in their shirts in semi.

And I plan on wearing a red dress shirt and like a black dress pant..is that ok.

I would tuck it in, it looks a bit nicer. If you feel that it would be OK to untuck it then go for it.

Black dress pants would be fine. Also perhaps you could go out and buy a one button black jacket. Or if you have one, use that. Or a leather jacket could be nice.

If I were in your position, however, I would buy a white shirt instead a red one. Red is quite a hard colour to accessorize and to pull off.

Also if you end up wearing a black jacket with black pants and a red shirt, go out and buy some white high-top shoes to go with it. They contrast the formal edge you would have going, and bring it back down again.

It’s totally up to you. But remember just wear whatever you feel comfortable in, and have a good time!
