Did Sacha Baron Cohen go too far by dumping the (fake) ashes of Kim Jong-Il on Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet?

He showed up dressed as his role in The Dictator and spilled an urn with what was supposed to resemble the ashes of the late dictator which he then spilled on Ryan Seacrest during an interview.

Was it harmless fun, or over the top?

Notoriety, which there is plenty as a result….. is never considered over the top. I say it worked as planned.

Not at all…The guy is a genious…The free advertising for his new movie is brilliant,he does crazy stuff all the time and i guess his ways are just a reflection of societys current limits in the form of entertainment…He is unique, original and a must watch…I never new about his new character until this happened,so it worked coz i cant wait to watch his new movie.

I’ve watched all of his movies and even his tv show he used to have…. he’s known for doing crazy things, and he honestly doesn’t care. He insulted the god in front of a terrorist organizer, and even sang a fake song instead of the Ntional anthem. I feel like if it were someone like Obama that died , then he acted like he poured Obama’s ashes on Ryan, then there would be much disrespect toward Cohen….but of course since it’s someone who is a complete d!ck and did nothing good for his country, it feels alright. To me, it was kind of wrong just in the sense that it disrespects the family of Jung, but at the same time, I’m glad Cohen did it. It’s also a matter of if people have a sense of humor.
