Do you have the ruthless but virtuous trait so that you can be a good, responsible leader?

Answer #1

Nope. Not me. I don’t like to organize things. I don’t want to be responsible.

Answer #2

you just wanna sit down and watch tv, sheep.

Answer #3

I could almost say I have a somewhat ruthless side, but sometimes I question my own virtue. What I’m really lacking, and is necessary to be a leader, is the ability or drive to be able to tell people what to do. I never want any part of that, I’m more for letting people scatter and find their own way.

Answer #4

You should understand that if a trait is positive or negative depends on context. Highly successful businessmen and career criminals have similar personality traits. If the same child grows up in one environment they may be the next billionaire business tycoon but if they grow up in a different one they may end up a mob boss. Someone inflexible might be seen as stubborn or tenacious depending on what they oppose. Someone responding to peer pressure might be seen as weak willed if their peers were hooligans but are a team player if their peers are honor students.

Answer #5

I was a pretty poor boss when I had people working for me for much the same reason. It seems unnatural for me to order other people around. Since my wife works we have a housekeeper come in once every two weeks to do things we don’t have time to get around to. This is financially better than my wife or I working less but telling our housekeeper what we need done almost gets stuck in my throat. Luckily where I work now nobody works for me. On the org chart I’m a leaf instead of a branch as they say.

Answer #6

Absolutley. I do it already at work but don’t want to be “the boss”.

Answer #7

Yeah I know exactly what u mean. My dad is a journalist and he told me about some crime bosses he met and said how smart they were and normal looking they were. And how they could have been businessmen.

Answer #8

Nope. Some sheep just wanna watch the world burn. :P

Answer #9

was that a Dark Knight Reference? And now I’m scared :O

Answer #10

Not the latter, but I do have a comforting presence, I give the impression of security.

Answer #11

I dont see how being ruthless (without compassion) makes anybody a responsible leader. Mahatma Gandhi was hands down the best and most responsible leader of the twentieth century. He led India to independence through his fasting and prayer. He was the polar opposite of ruthless.
