Omg i had an English Mastiff he was a big teddy bear, he weighed about 185 to 190 pounds…he was good around people..

They sound like they’d be HUGE & full of muscles. But really if you train any breed the correct way they can be the kind of dog you want.

That is true …

Any breed of dog can make a good pet. The question is more so “Could you be a good owner to a English Mastweiler?” The personality of a dog can vary greatly, regardless of breed. Can you afford 100’s of dollars in vet bills? Can you provide a good environment for a large dog? Please note that Not all Rottweiler English Mastiff mixes are considered English Mastweilers. They must meet the breed standards. Also concider that this is a +10year commitment. If you decide latter on you don’t want him he’ll be very difficult to rehome. Many large breed dogs are put to sleep in shelters because no one wants a giant dog. Go to a shelter, find a dog that you connect with, visit more then once. You could save a life

Answer #5

i totally disagree because my parents adopted this English Mastiff and he was pretty big at that time..so everybody’s choice is different…and he turned out to be a loveable dog..

Answer #6

I said many not all. Plus, Did they volunteer at a humane society and watch all different breeds of dogs/cats get put to sleep everyday? I did. Puppies rarely get put down, the adult large breed dogs don’t make it very often. :( it’s sad but im sorry very true. When you go to a shelter the workers there help you choose a dog to suit your life style. The goal of that is to prevent dogs from returning. A large breed suited your parents’ lifestyle. .

Answer #7

Here the thing its going to be a big dog therefore you will need lots of space and a backyard and he does need to have his ears clean regularly for its health and need to be walked and exercised daily. They also prefer cooler temperatures but does well in warm weather. He/she will also be a very heavy shedder. But its all around a good pet and be your friend to end.

Answer #8

IT pobrably wouldn’tmake a good first time dog if you’ve never owned a domiant type dog before. Rottweilers and english mastiffs are guard dog types so they can be very dominating. do your research on both the breeds seperate first.
